My students are currently reading Faith and the Electric Dogs by Patrick Jennings. It's a story about a young girl named Faith who recently had moved to Mexico from San Francisco, California after her mother remarries.. She really hates living in Mexico. She refuses to learn Spanish, people can't understand her, and she just feels like she doesn't fit in. Until one day she meets Edison, an electric street dog. Together, they devise a plan to get back to San Francisco in a tin rocket ship! Will they make it?  And oh yeah, the story is being told from Eddie's point of view!
